According to the date published in the Federal Register, June 1, 2012 might be another important date in the life of many immigrants in the United States. Some of these immigrants may finally secure a clear path to green cards after over 10years of waiting.
The last time any significant step was taken to help assuage the suffering of immigrants who entered the United States without inspection was in December 2000 when President Clinton was leaving office. At that time, the LIFE Act was passed into law and Section 245(i) of the Immigration & Nationality Act became operative for about 4 months. Many illegal immigrants at that time were able to adjust their status by paying the sum of $1000 as penalty for either overstaying their visa or entering into the United States without inspection.

This is to inform the general immigrant public that based on the projection on the Visa Bulletin released the by U.S. Department of States for the month of June 2012, the priority dates of petitions filed by U.S. citizens for brothers and sisters in 2001 under the LIFE Act will start to become current effective June 1, 2012.
USI News will like to advise the public that the process of obtaining green card from such petition filed for beneficiaries residing in the U.S. is different from that of beneficiaries who reside abroad. Some overzealous beneficiaries who reside in the U.S. have wasted their money in the past by paying the National Visa Center’s fees. These immigrants receive invoices from the U.S. Department of States agency called the National Visa Center and without consulting with immigration attorneys simply sent money orders to NVC. What a waste of money!
Red Flags at Immigration Interviews leading to Denials

USI News will like to report that there is a recent surge in the number of immigrants being sent to the dreaded Stokes Interview from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services offices in New York not because Immigration Service Officers (ISO) are becoming more difficult, but because immigrants have gotten themselves into some unexplainable trend of carelessness.
As is widely known, it cost an arm and a leg to file for adjustment of status these days. The USCIS has turned immigrants into piggybanks to drain from in the name of efficiency. Despite this huge cost, most immigrants are not giving their cases the needed attention to guarantee success at their green card interviews. As a result, they end up before Stokes interview officers who in turn destroy their future in the United States with the issuance of denials to seal their future hopes of obtaining permanent resident status in the U.S.
